POINT TO THE POSITIVE! Welcome to ShowYourClass.com. Our School District enjoys INCREDIBLE COMMUNITY SUPPORT and this site Points to the Positive. While teachers, students, and the community may hesitate to "blow their own horn", I believe that if it's true and it HELPS OUR STUDENTS with their perception of our school AND THEIR PERFORMANCE, well ... somebody has got to Point to the Positive! The 27th Annual FAMILY TREE FEST! Team 7 Itasca Dist. #10 SEVENTH GRADERS in Mr. Peel's Social Studies Classes once again took on the Genealogy/Itasca History Challenge and created INCREDIBLE Family Tree Albums.
ONE HUNDRED YEAR OLD PHOTOS, IMMIGRATION PAPERS FROM ELLIS ISLAND, BAPTISM AND BIRTH CERTIFICATES, AND REALLY UNIQUE OLD FAMILY PHOTOS. THAT'S HISTORY!
Each year the FamilyTree Fest starts anew, and yet has grown bigger. It outgrew the school's display cases a few years ago and has been invited to Special Engagements during the month of January at the ITASCA PUBLIC LIBRARY. The FamilyTree Fest is now part of Itasca's Winterfest. Click on http://itasca.k12.il.us/peacock/7team/picts/01-27-2003/index.htm and http://itasca.k12.il.us/peacock/7team/peel/familytree/2004-01-11/index.htm to see pictures! It's the largest genealogy display in DuPage County!
2007 - 2008 Update - Due to the increased emphasis on testing, building administration (Dr. Nickisch) has decided on teaching assignment changes and to limit teaching to "only textbook material". The 28th Annual FamilyTree Fest at the Itasca Public Library has been canceled. Since the SAT tests cover research skills, we're looking for other ways to cover those skills.
